Law.com’s The Law Firm Disrupted briefing deals with KPMG’s bid to deliver legal services in the U.S. alongside the use of generative artificial intelligence (AI) in the sector. It cites the Citi Hildebrandt advisory report from December which found that the vast majority of large firms said under 1% of their revenue went on gen AI-related spending in 2023, a percentage expected to rise over the next two years. It also notes KPMG and its Big Four rivals’ plans to start competing with Big Law on transactional work, for example, should a move into the legal sector gain the approval of authorities.
